That’s why we were proud to be the official wine sponsor of the 2026 O’Briens Electrical & Plumbing Our Kids Winter Ball in Lismore.
The Winter Ball is one of the Northern Rivers’ premier fundraising events, bringing together local businesses, community leaders and supporters for an evening with a shared purpose, to improve healthcare outcomes for children across the region. Beyond the entertainment and celebrations, the event highlights what can be achieved when a community comes together to support families during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Celebrating 25 Years of Our Kids
The 2026 Winter Ball also marked a significant milestone, celebrating 25 years of Our Kids and its commitment to improving children’s healthcare throughout the Northern Rivers.
Operating as the Northern Rivers Children’s Health Fund, Our Kids raises money to purchase vital paediatric medical equipment for Lismore Base Hospital, Tweed Hospital, Grafton Base Hospital and surrounding regional health services. Since being established in 2001, the organisation has funded more than $3 million worth of equipment, helping children receive specialist care closer to home and reducing the need for families to travel long distances for treatment.
A Record-Breaking Night
The generosity shown throughout the evening resulted in an incredible fundraising total of $57,000, making it the most successful Winter Ball in the event’s history. Those funds will be used to purchase two i-STAT blood analysing machines for Lismore Base Hospital, with one allocated to the Kids Ward and the other to the Emergency Department.
These portable analysers provide rapid blood test results, allowing medical teams to make faster clinical decisions when treating young patients. Equipment like this can make a meaningful difference by improving the speed of diagnosis and care for children when every minute matters.
